How to grow your business…in good times & badAug 03, 2019
How to multiply results
It’s been a slow couple of years in some industries, such as retail trade, real estate, and others.
Such is the nature of economic cycles.
How, then, do you grow a business in good times and bad?
There are ultimately only 3 ways to grow a business: find more customers, increase what you can charge for your product or service by adding more value & communicating this to your clients, and increasing purchase frequency (or you could add complimentary new products).
If you can do all 3, then the results multiply your revenue, powering you ahead.
Ideally these days need to build a mailing list, using free content, paid advertising, or partnership marketing via podcasts or articles to capture email addresses.
Offering a free e-book or ‘cheat sheet’ is often the simplest way to do this.
And then you can send them high quality, value-adding content, perhaps once every week or fortnight, or at a cadence most suitable to your audience.
This way even if cold prospects come into your pipeline, whenever they’re finally ready to buy you will be front of mind.
Next up you need a slick sales process to screen out the enquiries that aren’t likely to buy from you any time soon, so you can focus on converting and retaining the lukewarm or hot prospects.
And thirdly, to grow a business you need to be able to scale through packaging up your intellectual property, and delegating and outsourcing wherever appropriate so you can do more of what you do best.
Finally, always remember to leverage the power of like-minded and inspirational networks, not least because in time you’ll become the sum of the half dozen or so people that you spend most of your time with.
We spent today doing exactly that at this awesome intensive workshop in Melbourne.
