Saving tax isn’t the reason to spend or invest

Oct 23, 2019

To be honest with you, 2019 hasn’t really gone according to plan for us.

Sadly we lost a close family member, and we’ve had to shuffle things around quite a lot this year to work through some stuff.

It’s been a timely reminder that life throws up these things periodically.

Carpe diem.

Anyway, while strolling through yet another airport this afternoon, and after buying the obligatory gifts for my wife & kids, I was minded to make a short video about tax (I am, after all, an accountant).

I often say that saving tax isn’t a reason to spend or invest in itself.

Nevertheless, if you are going to invest it is imperative that:

(a) you understand the rules; and

(b) you use those rules to their maximum advantage

I discussed this a little further in the short video here
